Kenwood GE-4030
A mid-tier graphic equalizer in Kenwood's 1980s component line — slightly fewer bands than the flagship GE-1000 with the same slider-control layout, positioned as the budget choice for system tuning.
Overview
The GE-4030 is a smaller, more affordable graphic EQ than Kenwood's GE-1000 flagship. Typical configuration is 5 to 7 bands per channel (some markets received 5-band, others 7-band — the model number suffix varies). Cut/boost range is the standard ±12 dB. The unit is line-level, meant for insertion between preamp and power amp or in a tape-monitor loop.
It was sold as the entry point into outboard EQ for buyers who weren't going to invest in a flagship GE-1000 but wanted some tonal control beyond what their integrated amplifier's bass/treble controls offered.
