The Altec Model 14 is a speaker system produced by Altec Lansing between 1979 and 1984. Marketed as one of the most efficient speakers the company ever produced, it features the MantaRay MR931 horn and the 902-8B high-frequency driver with Altec's Tangerine phase plug for extended high-frequency response. The system uses an 8-ohm nominal impedance and a crossover frequency of 1.2 kHz. A redesigned crossover was developed by Richard Christianson in the mid-2000s for improved performance.
